Both models of Sparcs were absolutely bulletproof for the nearly two decades that I used them. I used various versions of Solaris, starting with SunOS 4, then moving to Solaris 2 when that came out and then upgraded all the way through to Solaris 9 (Solaris 10 wouldn't run on the older Sun hardware, so that was the end of the line OS wise without a hardware upgrade).
