My Dark Folk Music Past... I can't take all the candles and the heavy espresso brew It brings back painful memories of a lifestyle I once knew So I'll pass on the Chamomile and the dainty scones too I've given up on writing poems about the alternate realities I knew Just get me a shot and a beer chaser fast! 'cause I'm remembering my dark folk music past. I listen to the 'Pistols now and prefer my clothes colored black No more bell bottoms or that tie-dye hemp bag give me cracked leather and a old german army pack I've traded herb tea for Jagermeister and given up the weed for crack Forget the acoustic guitars and peace signs now I've got a big amp and the Union Jack So crank up the volume and let the speakers blast I sure don't want to relive my dark folk music past. I'm done hanging out in remote forests trying to right corporate wrongs God forbid I buy another bongo drum and start covering Bob Dylan songs No more collecting feathered roach clips or engineering more efficient bongs I've ditched the dredlock girlfriends in their colorful Guatemalan sarongs Wow! We better hurry to the mosh pit I beginning to long for my dark folk music past. Quick! I gotta get another nipple piercing Yeah, I'm remembering my dark folk music past.
