Here are some of our photos from the trip. (Because of the length of this trip, I am breaking the photos up into several different pages. This tenth section will eventually show Jonna's days in Delhi on her way to McLeoud-Ganj and Dharamsala.)
1) Delhi proved to be a chaotic, load, crowded and colorful place with great passion. This was the terrace at Jonna's guesthouse where she could have a quiet cup of Darjeeling.
2) The Red Fort (Lal Qila) is located in Old Delhi. It was the seat of Mughal power for over 200 years. Jonna hiked around this area for a couple of hours.
3) Across from the Red Fort is this Digambar Jain temple. Further down the block was a Hindu temple, a mosque and a Sikh temple.
4) A typical street scene in Delhi - people, cars, rickshaws, motorcycles, scooters and no traffic rules.
5) Two rickshaws near Old Delhi with napping drivers and a canine companion. Most dogs and cats in India were ferrel.
6) Outside the Ghandi museum was a collection of Gandhi statues. This was Jonna's favorite of the statues. The museum was empty of patrons. It has many powerful photos and items including the bullet killed Gandhi and the bloody shawl he was wearing when he was shot.

Refuge and contemplation
City is too much
7) Jonna splurged on high tea at Delhi's Imperial Hotel. This was British influenced service at it's best. There were no scones or clotted cream but a huge spread of other British and Indian goodies. It was quite the contrast to be looking out on these pristine gardens knowing the poverty that sat on the other side of the garden wall.

Lots of yummy sweets
